(16.10.2025) Meeting in Belgrade: RETUNSEE Network Supports Employees of NIS
Belgrade, October 2025 – At the invitation of Goran Takić, President of the NIS Trade Union, President of the Autonomous Trade Union of Energy Workers of Serbia, and President of the RETUNSEE network, a working meeting was held in Belgrade with Mitja C. Fabjan, President of the Trade Union of Energy Sector Workers of Slovenia (SDE) and Secretary General of the RETUNSEE network.
The main topic of the discussion was the challenges faced by the company NIS following the sanctions imposed by the United States, due to the company’s majority ownership by Russian entities. The participants expressed concern for the 13,500 employees who continue to perform their duties diligently, yet find themselves in an uncertain situation due to political decisions.
President Fabjan emphasized the full support of SDE and RETUNSEE member organizations for their Serbian colleagues in their efforts to maintain normal business operations and protect the social security of workers. It was agreed that the network will continue to monitor the situation and work towards finding constructive solutions at the European level, in cooperation with partner organizations.
